Privacy Policy

Effective September 11, 2026

Vulpecula is a small, independent comic archive. It does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, mailing lists, or data brokers. The site is designed to collect as little information as practical.

What the site collects

Unique visitor counter

To avoid counting the same browser on every visit, the site places a first-party cookie named vulpecula_visitor in your browser. It contains a randomly generated identifier—not your name, email address, IP address, or other contact information. The server stores only a protected one-way version of that identifier and the date it was first counted.

The identifier is used only to maintain the public unique-browser count. It is not used to follow what you read, build a profile, advertise to you, or recognize you on another website. Because some privacy laws treat cookie identifiers as personal data even when they do not reveal a person's identity, this policy discloses it plainly.

Reader comments

If you choose to submit a comment, the site stores the call sign and message you enter, the comic associated with it, and a short display date. Comments are reviewed before publication. Approved comments and their call signs are visible to the public.

No email address or account is required. Please use a nickname and do not put personal information in a comment. A comment may be rejected or removed if it contains personal information, spam, abuse, or material unsuitable for the archive.

Curator access

The site operator's private curator tools use a temporary first-party session cookie for sign-in and security. This administrative feature is not intended for ordinary visitors.

Ordinary server records

Like nearly every website, the hosting service may automatically process basic connection information—such as an IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps, and security events—to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. Vulpecula does not use these technical records for advertising or visitor profiling. Their handling and retention may also be controlled by the hosting provider.

What the site does not do

  • No advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • No third-party analytics services.
  • No mailing list, purchases, user accounts, or location collection.
  • No sale, rental, or commercial sharing of visitor information.

Cookies and your choices

You can remove or block the visitor-counter cookie through your browser settings. If you delete it, a later visit may be counted as a new browser. Blocking it does not prevent you from reading the comics.

Comment removal and privacy questions

If you want a submitted comment removed, contact the site owner through the same public channel where the archive was shared with you. Include the comic title and call sign so the comment can be found; do not send extra personal information.

Changes to this policy

If the site's data practices change, this page will be updated before the new practice is introduced whenever practical. The effective date at the top shows the latest revision.
